Running games and programs on an external Nvidia - AMD graphics card

You may buy a laptop or PC with powerful capabilities and at a great cost, but after running heavy games and programs on it, it collides with the poor performance that it provides and the very slow response, although the device contains an external graphics card and superhuman capabilities, but it does not provide performance Expected to be. Sometimes, you do not have to blame the external graphics card and think that it is the cause of the problem, as it is very likely that the reason is the dependence of these heavy games and programs on the internal card, which is much weaker than the external card, so you find the performance is bad and unacceptable. The Windows system makes the programs consume the performance of the internal graphics card while the external ones do not work. Since we have previously explained how to run specific games and programs on an AMD card, in this article, we will show how to do the same while on Nvidia cards.

 

All you have to do is click right anywhere on the desktop, then from the menu click on Nvidia Control Panel or by going to Control Panel from the Start menu and then you will find the option Nvidia Control Panel. If you do not find this option on your device from the ground up, you must install the correct card driver by official methods to update the Nvidia graphics card driver Then after the control panel window opens for you, you will click from the left menu on Manage 3D Settings, then on the right side you will move to the Program Settings tab to go under Select a program to customize the program or game that you want to run on the external card, then from the bottom Select the preferred graphics processor for this program. You will select the Nvidia processor as shown in the image above, then click Apply to save the new settings. Later, when you start the game or program, it will be loaded onto the external card directly.

 

There is another way, which is the one that I prefer and I always use, where through this method you can add an option that appears to you when you run the program or game, through which you can select either to run on the internal card or the external Nvidia card. This feature is also built into the identification card. You will not need additional software. All you have to do is open the Nvidia Control Panel window again, click on the Desktop section and check the option next to Add “Run with graphics processor” to Context Menu (as shown in the image attached above) and thus you have activated the option.

 

Now whenever you want to run a game or program on the external or internal card, all you have to do is go to the game or program's running file and then right-click on it to display the control options, and among these options you will find Run with graphics processor so point the mouse pointer on it to display Other list, from which you can choose High-performance NVIDIA processor if you want to run this program or this game on an external Nvidia card, or the Integrated graphics option to run on the virtual or external card.

 

These were the basic ways to run any game or program on the external Nvidia card, whether it was on a laptop or a regular personal computer, so you will certainly feel a big difference between operating on the weak internal card and the external professional card if it meets the requirements of running games and heavy programs that you want to use on the computer .
